Sine Visitor Management Alternatives for Small Sites

Sine visitor management has carried a Honeywell badge since December 2020, when Honeywell bought the Australian software company, per Security Info Watch’s report on Honeywell acquiring Sine Group. The product now ships as Sine by Honeywell. And it’s grown well past a lobby sign-in screen.

Contractor inductions, permit tracking, compliance documents, geofenced check-in, access control add-ons. That breadth earns its keep if you run a construction portfolio or a logistics network. It’s a lot of platform if you run one office with a front desk and forty visitors a week.

Sine visitor management is a Honeywell platform now

When the deal closed, Security Info Watch’s coverage of the Honeywell and Sine Group acquisition, dated December 15, 2020, described Sine as “a software as a service (SaaS) company that provides visitor management, workplace and supply chain solutions that are accessible via mobile devices.” The industries it listed were commercial real estate, pharma, education, industrial, logistics, and construction. Terms weren’t disclosed.

That mobile-first, multi-industry DNA still shows. Sine’s own site now leads with “Visitor and Contractor Management Reimagined,” and its public product pages split into four areas:

• Visitor management: iPad kiosks, a mobile app, QR invitations, and geofencing to verify people on arrival.
• Contractor management: onboarding, digital inductions, and permit and certification tracking.
• Compliance management: vendor documents with expiry tracking and audit trails.
• Safety and security: emergency messaging, digital roll call, Face Check, and visitor screening.

Plans scale with check-ins, and the good stuff is gated

Sine’s pricing page lists Small, Medium, Large, and Enterprise plans, based on “average estimated check-in volume at your site for all check-in types,” with a fair usage policy if you go over. The page didn’t show dollar figures when we checked.

The feature gating is more telling than the price:

• Small: self-serve kiosks, digital invitations and QR codes, host notifications.
• Medium: adds FastTrack pre-registration, an asset register, Microsoft Entra ID sync, and SAML single sign-on.
• Large: adds a public API, visitor screening, and access control integrations (a paid add-on) with Gallagher, Inner Range, and Honeywell EBI.
• Enterprise: preferred pricing for large site portfolios with advanced requirements.

Identity sync starts in the middle. Screening and door integrations wait for the top. That’s a product designed around the IT and security team at a multi-site operator, with a starter tier for everyone else.

Who should pick Sine

Sine is a sound choice if your site looks like one of these:

• There’s no lobby. Yards, docks, and remote sites where people check in on their own phones fit Sine’s mobile and geofencing model.

When a Sine alternative makes more sense

Most buyers aren’t running a portfolio. The SBA Office of Advocacy’s 2026 small business FAQ counts 36.2 million small businesses in the U.S., employing 45.9 percent of private sector workers. The Office of Advocacy defines a small business as one with fewer than 500 employees.

If you’re one of them, the signs you’re overbuying are easy to spot:

1. Your complaints are basic. Hosts don’t know their visitor arrived. The paper logbook shows everyone’s name to the next person. Nobody signed the NDA.
2. One desk, maybe two. You don’t need a multi-site dashboard to watch a single lobby.
3. Nobody owns SSO, screening rules, or door integrations, and nobody’s asking for them.
4. Contractors are occasional, and a signed waiver covers them.
